Oil Coalescing Breathers

Good management of the plant environment includes protection of workers exposed to oil mist. Des-Case offers oil coalescing breathers to help prevent plant emission byproducts, as well as to prohibit entry of contaminants into machines.

Rotating equipment, such as gearboxes, typically generates large amounts of oil mist and vaporized oil, thus contaminating ambient air surrounding machines.

Oil Coalescing Breathers Combat Risk at the Source

Several oil coalescing options are available, from miniature units for oil slinging pumps to large steel units for stamping or injection molding/extrusion applications. The larger units are ideal for high-flow applications where oil mist is a problem and the system will benefit from both desiccant and filtration media.

Any pump or gearbox, and many hydraulic systems, where moisture is not a primary concern will benefit from the disposable TriplePlay™ (DC-SB-35) models. The units will, however, prohibit entry of external water in washdown situations. The disposable units capture particulate to 3 µ absolute, and oil mist to 2 µ absolute. Use of a mechanical indicator ensures integrity in use (pops at 35 mbar).

Models, Accessories & Installation Methods

The Des-Case DoublePlay™ and TriplePlay™ breathers incorporate a 1″ NPT threaded mounting design for easy adaptation to any size reservoir opening with adaptor or reducer options.
